City Utilities
City residents are provided with water, sewer and residential garbage service. Bills are ran at the beginning of each month and due on the last day of the month. Bills received after the due date are charged a late fee of $10. A fee of $10 is charged for no meter reading. Accounts with a late balance on the 15th of the next month will have the water service disconnected. For reconnection, account must be paid current and a $50 reconnection fees must be paid at the City Finance Office. Rates are as follows:
Water: Base rate of $13/month; plus $4.00per every 1,000 gallons - up to 5,000 gallons; $3.85 per every 1,000 gallons for any gallons in excess of 5,000. The base rate of $13 applies to all houses, even those with the water shut off at the curb. Rates effective October 1, 2009
Sewer: $22.50/month flat rate for the first 8,000 gallons of wastewater. All additional gallons in excess of 8,000 gallons shall be charged at a rate of $1.00 per 1,000 gallons.
Garbage: Residential garbage is charged $10.92 per barrel. Each additional barrel is $5.00. Garbage is picked up every Friday. Recycling is optional and picked up on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month.
Deposit: New accounts are required to pay a $100 deposit. Deposit are reviewed every December and will be refunded after 12 full months of no late fees.

The Emil M. Larson Library is located in the Ullyot Building at 120 N. Commercial Street. The Library is open Monday - Saturday 1 - 5 pm. It has many books and periodicals and also offers internet access.

The City offers a medical van service for the elderly and disabled. A small fee applies and appointments are taken at the City Finance Office. For more information, contact the office at (605) 532-5665.
The Ullyot Building that houses our City Hall and Library also has a large community room that is managed by the Senior Citizens group. This space can be reserved by calling 532-3330.

City residents are supplied electric and natural gas by Northwestern Energy. To set up service or to contact them, call 800-245-6977.
Interstate Telecommunications Cooperative, Inc. (ITC) provides the local phone service, internet and cable TV services. ITC can be reached at 800-395-4656. The local office, located at 107 2nd Ave. NW, is open Tuesdays and Thursdays.
